Todd Minturn is the Director of Hole in the Rock Ministries. He grew up in the small farming community of Hilmar, CA, and in Hilmar Covenant Church. His involvement with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in the mid '80s solidified his faith and planted the seeds for a lifelong journey of spiritual growth and development.
After 3 years as a CPA in Sacramento he began ministry with InterVarsity in '92 back at Cal Poly. An interest in urban ministry and the spiritual formation of college students in an urban missions context brought him back to Northwest Pasadena summer after summer. This led to his relocation to an urban neighborhood in Fresno in '02. His urban ministry experiences and study of the Hebrew prophets have grown his heart for issues of reconciliation and justice, particularly around race and ethnicity.
Todd's journey with anxiety and depression led him to contemplative Christianity and he has been profoundly formed by the ministry and teaching of Franciscan priest, Richard Rohr, founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, NM. He has also been shaped and guided by the work of Bill Plotkin and his involvement in the wilderness Soulcraft programs of Plotkin's Animas Valley Institute in Durango, CO.
Outdoors is where Todd loves to be and he is growing in his awareness and experience of our interconnectedness with the earth and all things.
Todd resides in Fresno, CA, with his wife, Carrie, and his two sons, Bryce and Cody. Bryce Canyon and Southern Utah are some of his favorite places to connect with God through nature, along with the Grand Tetons and the Central and Northern California coast.
